“Do you really have the time and patience for such a big job”

Doing projects around the home if you have the time can not only save you money, but also be rewarding. So, of course, you can paint your own windows- as long as you’ve got plenty of time and patience. It takes two of our guys that does window restoration professionally every day about a week to paint a house with 20 openings.

If you plan on painting your own windows you’ll need a hand, especially with lifting and flipping the sliding door panels. And I’d allow two to three 40 hour weeks to complete the project so you’d probably want to do it on your annual leave. It’s the type of project you really don’t want to rush.

Probably the most important thing you can focus on to make sure the job looks good (apart from a good spray painting technique) is making sure you take the time to get the masking over the rubber seals that hold the glass into the frames just right.

If the masking on the rubbers goes wrong, the job will look absolutely awful. We have rescued more DIY-ers and non-specialist painters than you could imagine. And unfortunately I have to add another 20%-50% on to the price of my original proposal to cover the time required to fix up what they’d done.

If you would like to take the next step and gain a greater understanding of the investment you’ll need to make to have your aluminium windows restored then Go Here to request a FREE QUOTE where myself or one of my qualified technicians NOT a SALESMEN can pop by your home to measure up, answer your questions and discuss if you’d be better off replacing your windows or restoring them. Or simply call tel: 1300 882 482 today to make an appointment.

We’ll take the measurements of your window frames away and prepare a detailed proposal outlining the cost for both options replacement and painting so you can be fully informed and make the choice right for you.
