Aluminium Window Restoration – How It’s Done

Wanting to change your old aluminium windows?  But you’re afraid that by ripping them out and replacing them will turn into a costly exercise?

If this is you, then rest easy; there is a new process Aluminium Window Restoration that is used to make your old aluminium windows look and work like new for a fraction of replacement cost.

Aluminium Window Restoration is the secret that window and door companies don’t want to share with you.

Almost always, when a window replacement company replaces an aluminium window a serious amount of collateral damage can be inflicted upon the window’s surroundings. Such as the brickwork, plasterboard, paint, timberwork and tiles. However, this isn’t the worst of it.

When a window is removed, the waterproof flashing lining gets damaged during the pulling out of the old window frames, as it is ripped apart. The waterproof flashing lining is designed to repel water that makes its way into your wall cavity. It is connected along one edge to the bottom sill of your old windows and along the other edge it is cemented between the second and third row of bricks below your window frame.

The only way to waterproof newly installed windows is to remove 2-3 rows of brick work under each window sill, then overlay the flashing connected to the bottom of each new replacement window and sandwich the end of the flashing between rows 2-3 of bricks when you re-cement your brick work.

Most window replacement specialists rely upon a silicon seal they apply by hand with a silicon gun between the edge of a window frame and brickwork to stop rain water from leaking in between the brick work and the window into the internal cavity, which is not good enough because as silicon ages, it looses its elasticity, shrinks and cracks leaving holes for water to make its way into your home’s internal wall cavity whenever it rains.

Damp timber frames around leaking windows are an open invite for termite attack, as termites love damp timber. Termite damage to your home can run into the tens of thousands of dollars.

Aluminium window painting is a highly sought after alternative to replacing your aluminium window frames, and it costs a fraction of the price. But, how does it work?

The process used in aluminium window painting is easy and seamless when done correctly, guaranteed. A process that Window Revival has spent years perfecting.

It begins with a thorough sanding and cleaning of your window frames in order to remove dirt and grime to ensure a stunning end result.

Then, in order to protect your house, heavy canvas drop sheets are placed over the spray area.

Plastic film is then added over the glass of the window in order to shield it from paint overspray.

The next part is the secret to the flawless finish; a specially formulated primer is applied to your window frames to ensure a long life for the aluminium and to make sure that the premium paint stays on.

The top-coat is then applied in a colour of your choice.  Now, for a maintenance overhaul in which parts such as rollers and weatherfelts are replaced to make your sliding windows work like new.

Finally, the worksite is cleaned and all rubbish is removed, leaving you with an amazing looking set of sliding aluminium windows that look and work like new.

Voila! That’s it. Easy and simple.

A guaranteed high quality window restoration service for your old tired looking aluminium windows. Making them look and work like new at a fraction of the cost of replacing them.

Now you can be the envy of your neighbourhood with great looking windows!
